
BEYOND OBSESSION
BEYOND OBSESSION is a German synth-pop duo from Rostock and Berlin, consisting of Nils Upahl and Marco Bartsch. Since their formation in 2012, the band has combined infectious electronic melodies with emotional songwriting and distinctive vocals.
Their debut album, Listen, Learn and Speak, established the foundation of the band’s signature sound, blending modern synth-pop, new wave influences, and electronic club music. Since then, BEYOND OBSESSION has released numerous singles, EPs, and albums, steadily building an international fanbase.
The duo’s music is characterized by atmospheric synthesizers, danceable rhythms, and memorable hooks. Drawing inspiration from classic synth-pop while maintaining a contemporary approach, BEYOND OBSESSION has developed a unique and recognizable musical identity.
Beyond their own releases, the band has collaborated with respected artists and producers from the international electronic music scene, including Project Pitchfork, Daniel Myer, and Olaf Wollschläger. Their collaborative single Weight of Words featuring Project Pitchfork received significant attention within the synth-pop and dark-electro community.
BEYOND OBSESSION is also known for its energetic live performances and strong connection with audiences. The band has appeared at renowned festivals such as M’era Luna Festival, Wave-Gotik-Treffen, NCN Festival, Autumn Moon Festival, and other events across Europe. They have shared stages with artists including And One, Solar Fake, Camouflage, De/Vision, Psyche, Covenant, Project Pitchfork, and Melotron.
With their current album In My Blood, BEYOND OBSESSION continues to refine its sound, delivering modern synth-pop with emotional depth, strong melodies, and international appeal.
